Kharkiv Oblast's power generating facilities have suffered significant damage, resulting in a shortage of electricity, and work is underway to repair or replace damaged equipment, provide electricity to critical infrastructure and develop alternative heating solutions for the coming winter, if necessary.

In the Kharkiv region, power generating facilities have suffered significant damage after the Russian attacks, leading to electricity shortages, and an analysis is currently underway to decide whether to repair or replace damaged equipment. Alternative heating solutions for the next winter are also being worked out, if necessary. This was announced on Monday by the head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Syniehubov on Telegram, according to UNN.

"Power generating companies have been significantly damaged. We are currently facing a power shortage both in Kharkiv and the region. We are working to provide electricity to household consumers, enterprises and transport infrastructure, as well as to reduce the time of scheduled outages," said Sinegubov during the telethon.

According to him, the analysis of the damaged facilities continues, after which it will be decided whether to repair or replace the damaged equipment.

"At the same time, we are working on a solution to ensure that residents of the region's communities have heat in their homes from alternative energy sources next winter, if necessary," said the RMA chairman.

He also reported on the consequences of today's hostile shelling of the region.

"Half an hour ago, the enemy struck at the civilian infrastructure of the Lyubotyn community in Kharkiv district. Preliminary, there were no casualties, but the threat of a repeat attack remains," said Syniehubov.
