"It's a lifeline" - Tom Holland admitted he cannot imagine his career without Zendaya's support

British actor Tom Holland stated that he would not have been able to develop his career without Zendaya's support. He shared this on the Good Hang With Amy Poehler podcast, as reported by UNN.

"She's just absolutely dedicated. She's like, 'I'm going to give it my all,'" Holland said.

The actor also highly praised Zendaya's ability to transform into different characters. In particular, he mentioned the role of Rue in the series Euphoria and the role of Emma in the film The Drama.

"I think when you see her as Rue in Euphoria, she couldn't be more different from who she is in real life. Then, if you see her as Emma in The Drama, it's a completely different piece of work, but with no less determination, passion, and drive," he noted.

Holland added that he considers Zendaya one of the best actresses of modern times.

"I think she's the best actress right now. I really think there's something special in her," the actor said.

According to Holland, while working on one of the scenes, he and Zendaya realized that the scene wasn't working the way it should.

The actor said that after filming his part, the camera was turned to Zendaya, and he asked her if she thought the scene was successful.

"I would never in my life dare to say such a thing to an actress I'm not in a relationship with. So I asked, 'Do you think this scene works?' And she replied, 'No, I don't think this scene works at all,'" Holland recounted.

After this, the actor approached the producers, who agreed that the scene needed to be changed. Subsequently, Holland informed the director about this.

"I know we've been shooting for a few hours, and I hate to say this, but I just don't think this scene works. Zendaya and I aren't feeling what we're supposed to feel at this moment," he recounted his conversation with Cretton.

According to Holland, the director took the feedback calmly, stopped filming, rewrote the scene, and reshot it the next day.

The actor noted that this decision ultimately improved the film.

"I'm very glad we did that, because in the film it sounds very strong, really," Holland said.
