According to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID-19 cases in Ukraine increased from 2,000 in June to almost 12,000 in July. Despite this, the workload on hospitals remains low, with 2,500 patients in inpatient facilities.

In June, two thousand cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine. In July, there was a significant increase - almost 12 thousand cases. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin during a briefing, UNN reports with reference to Media Center Ukraine.

We are now really seeing a significant increase in the incidence of COVID in the European Union and the United States. And many countries have begun to report that the numbers are quite significant. The same situation is observed in Ukraine. If we saw two thousand cases in June, we see a significant increase in July, and in July it was almost 12 thousand. That is, a significant increase in the incidence rate

- Kuzin said.

According to him, despite the increase in cases of the disease, the burden on the hospital system in terms of hospitalization is not too high: just over 2,500 people are in inpatient treatment.

Addendum

Kuzin said that there is no risk of local quarantines or restrictive measures due to COVID-19 in Ukraine so far.

Kuzin also reported that at least 10 different subtypes of coronavirus are circulating in Ukraine, including the FLiRT strain, which was registered for the first time in the world in March this year.
