During the Russian missile attack, Ukraine's largest hydroelectric power plant, the Dnipro HPP in Zaporizhzhia, suffered two direct hits, leaving one of its substations in critical condition.
In Zaporizhzhia region, during a large-scale attack by the Russian army, there were two direct hits on one of the substations of the Dnipro hydroelectric power plant - HPP-2. It is currently in critical condition. It is unknown when HPP-2 will be restored. This was stated by Ukrhydroenergo director Ihor Syrota on Radio Liberty, UNN reports.
"As of today, we are losing the plant. Zaporizhzhia power plant consists of two stations: HPP-1 and HPP-2. HPP-2 is under threat, we do not know how much and with what capacity it will be able to work... because of the missile strikes... because two missiles hit HPP-2 directly," said Sirota.
According to him, one of the supports of HPP-2 was hit, and crane beams were broken.
"HPP-2 is in a critical condition, HPP-1 is also not working," noted Syrota.
He said that all measures are being taken to raise the shutters.
