In Poltava region, police are looking for a missing 4-day-old baby: what is known

4-day-old girl goes missing from postpartum ward of perinatal center in Kremenchuk

Police in Poltava region are looking for a newborn baby who disappeared in Kremenchuk. UNN reports this with reference to the report of the Poltava regional police.

"Kremenchuk police received a report from a woman around 16:40 that her 4-day-old baby had disappeared from the postpartum room of the perinatal center. All the police personnel of the Poltava region were sent to search for the missing child," the statement said.

Operational and investigative measures are ongoing to identify the person involved in the abduction of the child.

"Police investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Kremenchuk District Prosecutor's Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 146 (Illegal imprisonment or abduction of a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative and search activities are ongoing," the police said.

Even before the official report from the police appeared, local media reported that the police were stopping and checking all cars at the exits of the city in search of the missing child. Local media also reported that the missing girl was born to a mother with many children, who already has 5 children.
