An 80-year-old woman died after doctors in the Lviv region failed to properly examine and diagnose her injuries sustained in a car accident. The therapist and the surgeon were notified of suspicion of improper performance of their duties
In the Lviv region, a therapist and a surgeon were notified of suspicion of improper performance of their duties due to the death of a woman injured in a car accident in 2022. UNN reports this with reference to the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.

Reportedly, on December 14, 2022, at 18:10, an 80-year-old woman was admitted to the medical facility with injuries sustained in an accident (car collision).
The investigation found that the patient had not been fully examined by the receptionist and surgeon, and that the severity of her condition and diagnosis were incorrect.
Two and a half hours after the examination, the woman died.
The law enforcement officers served the doctors a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 140 (Improper performance of professional duties by a medical or pharmaceutical worker) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to five years, or correctional labor for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to two years, or imprisonment for the same term.
