In Khmelnytsky region, an obstetrician-gynecologist has been notified of suspicion of improper performance of duties, which led to the death of a newborn child, the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office reported, UNN reports.

As indicated, the obstetrician-gynecologist was served a notice of suspicion of improper performance of his professional duties, which caused grave consequences (parts 1, 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The events took place in July last year.
"While delivering a baby, the doctor violated the orders of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and negligently treated her professional duties. As a result, the woman in labor and her newborn child suffered serious health consequences. The child was diagnosed with asphyxia, central nervous system damage, and hemorrhages. The woman in labor also sustained injuries. Today, on March 18, the boy died in the hospital," the prosecutor's office said.
Currently, the doctor has been suspended from performing her duties.
