In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, medical workers examined more than 300 passengers aboard a river vessel that was intercepted near Kinshasa after a man died with suspected Ebola infection. Reuters reports, writes UNN.

The vessel was stopped near the settlement of Maluku, approximately 65 kilometers from the country's capital. A mobile laboratory was set up on board, and all passengers had their temperatures taken and underwent clinical examinations.
Samples were collected from four passengers with symptoms, including fever, for laboratory testing.

The operation began after authorities reported the death of a 32-year-old man who was suspected of being infected with Ebola. The circumstances of his trip and the possible location of his infection remain unclear, while the test results for the passengers with symptoms are expected shortly.
Separately, Jean Kaseya, Director-General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, said that authorities plan to expand the use of the Ebola vaccine, as well as the antiviral drug remdesivir, in areas where an outbreak has been recorded.
