Hostile hackers attacked forestry, forensic institutions and factories - State Special Communications Service of Ukraine

In November-December 2024, the hacker group UAC-0099 carried out a series of cyberattacks on Ukrainian government organizations. The attackers gained unauthorized access to the computers of forestry, forensic institutions, and industrial enterprises.
The hostile UAC-0099 group attacked a number of state organizations, including forestries, forensic institutions, factories, and others in November-December 2024. UNN reports this with reference to the State Special Communications Service.
"CERT-UA has detected new cyberattacks carried out by the hacker criminal group UAC-0099. During 2022-2023, the group gained unauthorized remote access to several dozen computers in Ukraine. This time, government organizations, including forestry, forensic institutions and industrial enterprises, were at risk," the statement said.
It is reported that attackers continue to use traditional methods to penetrate information systems: phishing emails with malicious attachments. However, attack methods and tools are constantly improving.
