Details

The Series  will be shot at the British studio Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, where the well-known eight Harry Potter films were also shot.

The producers said that this series will be a complete adaptation of the cult books of writer J. K. Rowling.

It is also reported that there will be a completely new cast. Interestingly, 32,000 children auditioned for the main roles in the series.

Filming for the upcoming HBO original series, #HarryPotter, will take place at Warner Bros. Leavesden, and production will start in the summer of 2025 and will be released on Max," The Max streaming service noted in a post in X.

Warner Bros is a production company that created the original Harry Potter films starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Applications for television casting could be submitted by residents of the United Kingdom or Ireland between the ages of 9 and 11 until April 2025.

HBO reported that the casting team watched up to 1,000 tapes a day, after thousands of applications submitted by children.

The series was announced in 2023, and then Max said that it "will lead to the development of a new generation of fans, full of fantastic details, favorite characters and dramatic places that Harry Potter fans have loved for more than 25 years.

In total, they plan to make seven seasons of the series, each of them will be an adaptation of one of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter books.

"Each season will be authentic to the original books and introduce Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to a new audience around the world," Max added.

The series was approved by Francesca Gardiner and Mark Milod earlier this year.

The cast of beloved characters, including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, played by Radcliffe, Grint and Watson, respectively, will be announced later.
