Prime Minister Shmyhal held a meeting on shelters in schools. The ministries prepared proposals for the construction of safe ground shelters and reinforcement of school buildings to improve the safety of students.

The head of government held a meeting on on shelters in schools with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Finance, the State Emergency Service and the military.

Our goal is to create the conditions for as many students as possible to be able to study full-time. The issue of shelters in schools was raised during the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine. A number of instructions were given at the previous meeting. Today I heard information from the ministers on the preparation of engineering and technical solutions in educational institutions that will ensure the physical protection of children

According to him, the ministries have prepared proposals that will make it possible to arrange safe ground shelters. The meeting also discussed proposals to strengthen school buildings to improve their overall safety.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science are currently actively cooperating with the heads of regions. Communities should also be involved in the work, because it is primarily about their safety and the safety of our children.
