For the third day in a row: heat and wind in Kyiv set new records

On April 2, three new temperature records were set in Kyiv: the warmest minimum temperature of 12.1°C, the highest maximum temperature of 26.9°C, and the highest average daily temperature of 16.4°C, as well as a record wind speed of 19 m/s.
For the third day in a row, meteorological records have been recorded in Kyiv, according to observations from the meteorological station of the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, UNN reports.

As indicated, three temperature records were set in Kyiv on April 2.
- The minimum air temperature in the capital was the warmest for that day, as it did not fall below 12.1°C. The previous record value of 1951 was exceeded by 2.4°C.
- The maximum air temperature reached 26.9°C, which is 3.8°C higher than the previous record high in 2017.
- The average daily air temperature was the highest on record for this day and amounted to 16.4°C, exceeding the previous record highs of 1990 and 2017 by 2.4°C and the climatic norm by 9.9°C.
It is also reported that on April 2, the maximum wind speed in Kyiv reached a record 19 m/s (68 km/h), which exceeded the previous maximum value for this day recorded in 2018 by 1 m/s.
