French far-right parties use AI to promote anti-European narratives - Le Monde

Far-right parties in France are using artificial intelligence to create content that promotes anti-European narratives, such as the "Europe without them" campaign, which portrays immigrants and attacks political figures.
Far-right parties in France continue to use artificial intelligence to create content that supports their ideological goals, in particular in the "Europe without them" campaign. UNN writes with reference to Le Monde.
"This is the first French political video shot entirely with artificial intelligence," Eric Zemmour, leader of the far-right Reconquista party, wrote on his X.
Eric Zemmour expresses his support for the initiative, calling for votes for his Reconquest! party in the parliamentary elections. The video, which uses a series of animated images, shows French President Emmanuel Macron standing in a rain of banknotes, surrounded by migrants walking to a rural church.
The video goes on to demonstrate France's vision of Reconquest!'s success: a family picnic in a meadow with enchanting views.
According to the publication, this is not the first time far-right parties such as the National Union (RN) have used artificial intelligence to create and distribute content that supports their political ideas. One example is the RN's "Europe without them" campaign, which uses AI to create visualizations depicting immigrants on the beach or presenting a man as an Islamist attacking Emmanuel Macron and Ursula von der Leyen.
According to a study by AI Forensics, a non-governmental organization that analyzed the online content of 38 parties and coalitions in France from May 1 to June 28, 51 posts contained images created with the help of AI. Although this use of AI is still limited, almost all such materials come from the far right, with the exception of a few cases from the Union of Democrats and Independents (UDI) and the Rural Alliance. The situation is similar in other countries, such as Germany and Italy, where right-wing radical parties and their supporters are also actively using these technologies to spread their messages.
Recall
Earlier, Emmanuel Macron dissolved the French parliament and announced early elections after his party suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the far right in the European Parliament elections.
