When asked about a glamorous role for her in the next film, he insisted: "I would love for Sydney to be the next Bond. There have been cool Bond girls, but let her be a super spy, she's great."
Paul, who worked on Sydney's recent hit "The Maid", added: "She's one of the hardest-working people I know, so professional, so smart, so insightful. I think she'd make a good spy."
28-year-old American Sydney last year spoke about her interest in Bond after Amazon MGM acquired the franchise.
She said: "I've always been a big fan, and I'm curious to see what they do with it."
When asked if she would like to play a Bond girl, Sydney replied: "It depends on the script. I think I'd have more fun as James Bond."
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, and Jack O'Connell have all been considered for the role of Bond. Daniel Craig left the cinema after the 2021 film "No Time to Die."
Denis Villeneuve, director of "Dune", will direct the next James Bond film, with the script written by Steven Knight, creator of "Peaky Blinders."
