Ex-head of Kherson RMA Department suspected of embezzlement of UAH 18.7 million in procurement for the Armed Forces

The former director of the Kherson RMA Department is suspected of negligence. He accepted winter uniforms for the Armed Forces of Ukraine without quality certificates that did not meet the requirements, causing losses of UAH 18.7 million.
The former head of the Kherson RMA Department is suspected of improper performance of duties because the state suffered losses totaling more than UAH 18.7 million. This was stated by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN reports.
Details
According to the investigation, in November-December 2022, the suspect entered into an agreement with the LLC for the purchase of winter uniforms for units of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Later, he accepted winter hats, jackets, pants and gloves without quality certificates. However, according to law enforcement, they did not meet the technical requirements approved by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As a result of the former director's improper performance of his official duties, the state suffered losses totaling over UAH 18.7 million. Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region, the former director of the Department for Civil Protection and Defense of the Kherson Regional Military Administration was served a notice of suspicion of official negligence (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Mykolaiv, the operational support is provided by the State Bureau of Investigations in Kherson region.
