The Ukrainian Embassy in Sweden has called on Swedish journalist of Iraqi origin Elaf Ali to apologize to Ukrainian refugee women for her "joke" in one of the latest humorous programs "IFS - invandrare för svenskar" on the national channel SVT. This is stated in the post of the embassy in social networks, reports UNN.
Details
Journalist Elaf Ali said that Ukrainian women are blond and have blue eyes, so "no one will notice their presence except in brothels.
We consider such statements to be deeply offensive and completely unacceptable, given the circumstances of Russia's full-scale military aggression against Ukraine, which has forced Ukrainian women to flee for their lives and the lives of their children abroad.
The Embassy called on journalist Elaf Ali to publicly apologize and on the management of SVT to take the necessary measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
