EasyPay has disabled the refund function for Vodafone and Life subscribers due to fraud with the "Winter eSupport" program. Scammers were topping up mobile accounts with government funds and then withdrawing the cash.
The EasyPay service has disabled the "refund" function for subscribers of Vodafone and Life operators because people started replenishing their personal account with "Winter eSupport" funds and then withdrawing them in cash. This was reported by EasyPay CEO Oleksiy Avramenko, reports UNN.
Details
"Unfortunately, we had to disable the "refund" function for Vodafone and Life subscribers. Since there are "particularly smart" Ukrainians who decided to desecrate the idea of 1000 hryvnias of "Winter eSupport" in this way, the service will not work for everyone due to the misuse of state aid", Avramenko wrote.
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported how scammers withdraw funds: they receive the funds, top up their mobile phone, and then withdraw the funds in cash.
"Thank you, dear government representatives, especially the Ministry of Economy, for allowing the state funds to be used so nicely. It is particularly "cool" in combination with the statement that we have enough money to fight without the help of the USA for only half a year", Zheleznyak added.
Reminder
Payments of 1000 hryvnias under the "Winter eSupport" program have begun. You can apply through "Diia", partner banks or "Ukrposhta", the funds can be used for medicines, utilities, education and assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
