The Defense Forces deny the threat of the city's encirclement and control the situation. The occupiers have only occupied border villages 35 kilometers from the regional center.
The Joint Forces Group stated that media reports about the alleged "threat of a semi-encirclement of Sumy from the north and east" do not correspond to the real situation, UNN reports.
Regarding the media statement about the "threat of a semi-encirclement of Sumy from the north and east." The Joint Forces Group is responsible for the defense of the southern part of Sumy region. We must report that as a result of many months of Russian attempts to penetrate deep into Ukrainian territory in Sumy region, they managed to occupy several settlements directly on the border, such as Hrabovske and Myropilske. Thus, the border control zone of the occupiers has a depth of up to 3-4 km, while to the city of Sumy - more than 35 kilometers. We ask you to take this into account when assessing the prospects of "encircling the city from the east." We also want to emphasize that all enemy attempts to infiltrate the territory of Ukraine are prevented and stopped in time. The occupiers will not succeed, and they should keep their "dreams" of any "envelopments" and "encirclements" to themselves.

The communications center of the "Kursk" troop group also reported that "in the area of responsibility of the 'Kursk' troop group, the situation remains stable and controlled." Because unverified rumors and gossip about alleged danger to the regional center contribute to the destabilization of our society and the emergence of panic among the civilian population," the communications center of the "Kursk" troop group noted.
