The case of the former director of the capital construction department of Kyivvodokanal for official negligence has been brought to court. He signed certificates with overstated cost of works, which resulted in UAH 3.3 million in budget losses.

The case against the former director of the capital construction department of Kyivvodokanal PJSC on the fact of official negligence during the construction work on the reconstruction of water supply networks in one of the districts of the capital was referred to the court. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

Details

The pre-trial investigation established that in 2021, Kyivvodokanal PrJSC and a contractor entered into contracts for the reconstruction of water supply networks. As it turned out, the contractor unreasonably overestimated the cost of materials and work.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that at the same time, the accused, who then held the position of Director of the Capital Construction Department of PJSC Kyivvodokanal, without checking the prices of construction materials on the market and the volume of work performed, signed the acceptance certificates for the work performed, which included overstated information about the cost of construction work performed and materials purchased.

Based on the results of the commodity examinations, the damage to the budget amounted to more than UAH 3.3 million.

Prosecutors of the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv submitted to the court an indictment against the former director of the capital construction department of Kyivvodokanal PrJSC on the fact of official negligence during the construction works on the reconstruction of water supply networks in the Obolon district of Kyiv (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

- Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office said. 

The man faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of two to five years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and a fine of two hundred fifty to seven hundred fifty tax-free minimum incomes.
