Court reinstates Mykhailo Holovko as head of Ternopil regional council

The Lviv Administrative Court upheld a lawsuit to reinstate Mykhailo Holovko as head of the Ternopil Regional Council. The court also ordered him to pay UAH 591 thousand for the period of his forced absenteeism.

The Lviv Administrative Court has upheld a lawsuit to reinstate  Mykhailo Holovko as head of the Ternopil Regional Council.  This was reported by UNN with reference to Suspilne

Mykhailo Holovko confirmed to the media that the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal in Lviv had upheld his claim for reinstatement. It also ordered him to pay a salary of 591 thousand hryvnias for the period of forced absenteeism.

The spokesman for the Ternopil Regional Council, Roman Yavorsky , said that they were waiting for the full text of the decision. “Until there is an official court decision, we will not comment on the reinstatement of Mykhailo Holovko as head of the Ternopil Regional Council.

Mykhailo Holovko was dismissed from the post of head of the Ternopil Regional Council  on October 26, 2023. 

In June 2023, the then chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council and two of his deputies were caught receiving more than UAH 600,000. In this regard, on June 26, they were notified of suspicion. 

Subsequently, the High Anti-Corruption Court decided to take Holovko into custody, but set bail at UAH 805,200.

He was later released from custody.

In November, the High Anti-Corruption Court changed the measure of restraint for Mykhailo Holovko to round-the-clock house arrest.
