In the Sumy region, mandatory evacuation of 23 settlements in 5 communities under fire is underway. During the day, 35 people were evacuated, including 6 children, and there were dead and wounded.
Mandatory evacuation of 23 settlements of 5 communities under fire has begun in Sumy district of Sumy region. As of August 7, 35 people, including 6 children, have been evacuated, the Sumy RMA reported on Thursday, UNN reports.

According to the decision of the Defense Council and the order of the head of the Sumy RMA, mandatory evacuation is taking place from 23 settlements of 5 communities in Sumy district - Krasnopilska, Mykolaivska rural, Miropilska, Yunakivska and Khotynska - that fall within the enemy's firefighting zone.
Currently, the relevant tasks have been assigned to law enforcement agencies, the State Emergency Service, communities, military district administrations, and the relevant departments of the regional administration are working, and evacuation forces and means have been prepared.

International partners and Ukrainian volunteer organizations are actively helping Sumy region communities with the evacuation.
In the rear areas of Sumy region, 1297 places for temporary residence have been arranged.
"I urge residents of the communities that are under heavy fire to evacuate. This is especially true for families with children," commented Volodymyr Artyukh, Head of Sumy RMA. "Do not risk your life and the lives of your loved ones.
