The Center for Public Integrity has detected a new wave of russian disinformation about the events in the Kursk region. The fakes concern “Ukrainian Nazis,” Western journalists, “false flag” provocations, and the participation of foreigners in the operation.

The Center for Countering Disinformation reports on a new wave of russian propaganda fakes related to events in the kursk region. UNN writes about this with reference to the Center's report.

New fakes and manipulations spread by hostile propaganda around the events in the Kursk region have been identified in the russian information space.

The CPC recorded the following waves of disinformation publications.

  • "Ukrainian Nazis": Throughout the day, russians continued to spread fakes to support the propaganda narrative of "Nazi Ukraine". In particular, a photo with a swastika ring on the hand of an alleged Ukrainian soldier was circulated. There was also a video of another “atrocity” by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which two Ukrainian soldiers allegedly tore flags from the grave of a "wagnerian".
  • "Western journalists are lying". Western journalists' reports from the Kursk region, which describe the humane treatment of civilians by the Ukrainian military, have become a challenge for russian propagandists. russians, who have forgotten about the existence of free journalism, clumsily tried to deny everything and say that foreign reporters are working under pressure from special services.
  • "Ukrainians in russian military uniforms": ru-propagandists claim that Ukrainian soldiers are entering settlements in the kursk region wearing russian uniforms and planning provocations "under a false flag". In reality, the enemy is trying to create an alibi for its military to accuse Ukraine of crimes against civilians.
  • "Participation of foreigners in the operation" Unsubstantiated claims about "foreign mercenaries" on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region continue to be spread. And the alleged involvement of "NATO and Western special services" in the planning of the operation was stated by the assistant to the nikolai patrushev.
  • "The illusion of control": russian state media are actively promoting the statements of the commander of kadyrov's ahmat special forces about the alleged destruction of Ukrainian equipment and the halt of the offensive. However, his victories on the photoshop fronts made even the z-military commanders laugh.
