Border guards have recorded the highest number of border crossings during martial law - 150-154 thousand people per day. In the morning, there are no queues to leave Ukraine, and the border with Moldova is the least busy.
Since December 14, border guards have been recording one of the highest numbers of people wishing to cross the border during martial law. Last Saturday, 150 thousand people crossed the border, and last Sunday - 154 thousand people. Also, passenger traffic slightly decreased yesterday, but not significantly - 127 thousand people crossed the border. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a telethon, UNN reports.
Details
Passenger traffic has grown significantly. If we compare the beginning of December and November, we have one of the highest passenger traffic figures in general during martial law. At the same time, the increase in passenger traffic began to be recorded gradually from the 14th of December. That weekend, passenger traffic on both Saturday and Sunday reached 100 thousand people per day. On weekdays, it continued to grow gradually and, in fact, this weekend had the highest crossing rates. On Saturday, 150 thousand people, and on Sunday - 154 thousand people crossed the state border of Ukraine on their way to and from Ukraine
He noted that last Saturday was characterized by an even distribution of exits and entries - 75 thousand people crossed the border to leave and enter Ukraine.
"Sunday was characterized by the fact that 10 thousand more people crossed the border heading towards Ukraine. This is an advantage over those who were leaving Ukraine. During yesterday, passenger traffic slightly decreased, but not significantly. A total of 127 thousand people crossed the border yesterday (December 23 - ed.)," added Demchenko .
According to him, the queues at the checkpoints have also decreased.
"As of this morning, there are no queues to leave Ukraine (...) We also need to understand that passenger traffic has increased not only on the border with Poland. With the increase in passenger traffic, certain queues were also observed on other sections of the border with other EU countries. The border with Moldova was the least busy area during this period," the spokesman emphasized.
