"Barcelona" - "Atletico", "PSG" - "Liverpool" - preview of the Champions League quarter-final matches

Today, April 8, at 22:00 Kyiv time, the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals will kick off, with Catalan "Barcelona" facing Madrid's "Atletico", and Illia Zabarnyi's "PSG" hosting English "Liverpool". UNN reports what is known ahead of the matches, who the bookmakers' favorites are, and where to watch the games.

"Barcelona" - "Atletico" 

The match at "Camp Nou", where Catalan "Barcelona" will host Madrid's "Atletico", will start at 22:00 Kyiv time. 

In the 1/8 finals, "Barcelona" crushed English "Newcastle" with an aggregate score of 8:3, while "Atletico" defeated English "Tottenham" 5:7. 

In this match, the Catalans will be without midfielder Marc Bernal, defender Andreas Christensen, and key player Raphinha. Meanwhile, the "Mattress Makers" have no losses before the game. 

It should be noted that "Barcelona" and "Atletico" have met 4 times in the Champions League, with the "Madridistas" having the upper hand – two victories, compared to one victory for "Barcelona". One match ended in a draw. The last time the teams met in European competitions was in the 1/4 finals of the 2015/2016 Champions League season, when "Atletico" defeated the "Catalans" with an aggregate score of 3:2. 

At the same time, on Saturday, April 4, in the 30th round, "Atletico" narrowly lost to "Barcelona" - 2:1.

"PSG" - "Liverpool" 

In a parallel match, Illia Zabarnyi's Parisian "Paris Saint-Germain" will host English "Liverpool" at "Parc des Princes".

"PSG" in the 1/8 finals crushed English "Chelsea" with an aggregate score of 8:2, while "Liverpool" defeated Turkish "Galatasaray" 4:1. 

In this match, the Parisians will be without forwards Bradley Barcola and Quentin N'Jantu. The "Merseysiders" will be without goalkeeper Alisson, midfielders Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic, and defenders Conor Bradley and Rhys Williams. 

The teams have met 4 times in the Champions League, with each team having two victories. The last time the teams played was in the 1/8 finals of the 2024/2025 Champions League season, when "PSG" advanced after a penalty shootout, becoming the Champions League winner. 

Where to watch, bookmakers' favorites
