Apple removed the Russian messenger Max and deprived 20 million users of access

Russian propaganda and officials have reacted very painfully to Apple's decision to remove the state messenger Max from its app store without prior warning. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), as relayed by UNN.

Details

It is noted that Apple explained this decision as compliance with sanctions legislation, for which the company is now being called "enemies" in Russia, though they admit they cannot solve this "problem."

The Max messenger was created in Russia as one of the important tools for promoting propaganda and controlling the internet and the population. However, due to the decision of the American giant, the messenger, which the authorities are forcibly imposing on Russians, has become unavailable to more than 20 million users in the RF, significantly reducing the effectiveness of propaganda

- the CCD states.

They point out that while the authorities in the RF are creating a "digital iron curtain," restricting the internet, and building systems of total control over the population, ru-propaganda is trying to convince people that the RF is a technologically advanced and self-sufficient country.

"However, real technological backwardness makes even propaganda in the RF dependent on the decisions of 'hostile companies'," the CCD concludes.

Recall

Russia has become a world leader in the number of apps removed from the App Store, steadily lowering the digital "iron curtain."
