Evacuation of residents has begun in the Velikosoldatsky district of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This is the fifth district of the region to be evacuated, although it does not border Ukraine.

The head of the district, Vladimir Zaitsev, said that evacuation of residents in the Velikosoldatsky district of the Kursk region had begun.

"There was no evacuation in our neighborhood until today. Everyone left on their own, no one prevented them. Today we are collecting data on those who still need to be evacuated," wrote the head of the district.

According to him, there are many people left in the area, but they do not want to leave. As of August 12, there were no evacuation requests, Zaitsev said.

Evacuations have reportedly been announced for August 13 in five districts of Kursk region, with people also being taken out of Glushkov, Ryl, Korenov and Belov districts. Residents of the Krasnoyaruzsky district of the neighboring Belgorod region have almost completely left.

Meanwhile, after footage of a road sign with the inscription "Lgov" appeared online, the authorities of the Lgov district declared the information that Ukrainian forces had reached the town, 15 km from the Kursk nuclear power plant, as "fake".

At the same time, new videos of prisoners in the Kursk region are appearing online, one of which is said to be "under the dungeon" and another to ask for an exchange for captured Azov fighters.
