The tremors were felt throughout northern Tuscany, in the neighboring provinces of Lucca and Massa-Carrara, and as far as the province of Florence.
At the same time, a few days earlier, on the night of July 30-31 at 1:30 a.m., the National Institute of Geology and Volcanology (INGV) recorded an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 also in the Pisa area, with its epicenter located 3 km from the municipality of San Giuliano and 4 km from Pisa.
