The Minister of Education of Ukraine said that about 200,000 men of mobilization age are entering universities for fictitious studies. The Ministry of Education and Science is conducting inspections and analyzing anomalies in the enrollment of men aged 25+.

The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi said that due to the increase in the number of men 25+ in relation to the number of the same category in the pre-war period, the Ministry of Education and Science has put forward a hypothesis that about 200 thousand men enter higher education institutions for fictitious studies. He said this during a working visit to the Mykolaiv region, a correspondent of UNN reports.

"We are focusing our attention on such a critically unacceptable phenomenon as fictitious education in higher education institutions. I have to say that today, after conducting random inspections by the State Education Quality Service in a number of educational institutions of different forms of ownership, levels and regions - from Kyiv to regional, from private to state and municipal, small and large, we have found a certain hypothesis. According to this hypothesis, we can estimate that in terms of the number of men 25+ and the number of men of the same category in the pre-war period, the growth allows us to hypothesize that about 200,000 men are entering higher education institutions at different levels: bachelor's, master's, even professional pre-higher education, although the focus was on bachelor's, master's and then postgraduate studies," says Lisovyi.

He said that the problem had attracted the attention of the Ministry of Education and Science, and more than one meeting had been held at the level of the Prime Minister and the President's Office. The meeting, which was held by the heads of regional military administrations, involved rectors and representatives of educational institutions.

"We will be checking and paying attention to this phenomenon very carefully. Now the database will give us general indicators, and we will once again analyze the anomalies that we find. There are several negative aspects here," the minister added.

He is convinced that the issue of mobilization is only one aspect, but when we focus on organizing effective training in educational institutions, it leads to the degradation of the higher education system.

Recall

As previously reported by Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andriy Vitrenko, there will be no increase in the number of places for master's and PhD programs, regardless of demand and other various circumstances. The educational sector will never in its life help people who use various means to avoid fulfilling their constitutional duties.
