Bagheera, the sheepdog who was rescued from the water after the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant explosion, has died. This was announced by the head of the Berserk Animal Rescue Federation, Lyudmila Melnikova, on her page, writes UNN.

Today, the heart of one of the most famous dogs in the world stopped beating. Bagheera, the sheepdog, a symbol of courage and the struggle for life despite everything, has gone to the rainbow

The woman said that the dog was over 10 years old. She spent the best years of her life on a chain and suffered from malnutrition, not knowing what meat was.

However, according to Melnikova, in recent years Bagheera has been bathed in love and care. However, she paid a very high price for it.

Lyudmila thanked the people who took care of the dog and even called them the dog's parents. She also wrote words of gratitude to the woman who helped save this legendary sheepdog.

I would like to thank her new owners, Yuriy and Olya, for the love they gave her 24/7. Thank you for giving me hope and faith in people

Addition

After the Kakhovka HPP explosion on June 6, 2023, the animal was rescued by caring neighbors who removed the chain with which the previous owner had tied the dog. Due to the flooding, the dog spent more than a day in cold water, clinging to the boards.

After the rescue, veterinarians diagnosed Bagheera with a spinal hernia, due to which the dog could not walk. But caring people came to the rescue again, and after a long treatment and rehabilitation, the four-legged dog got back on its feet. Recently, the dog lived with farmers in Mykolaiv region, where they took care of her.
