A case of possible sabotage is being investigated at the NATO air base in Geilenkirchen. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, drinking water could have been contaminated there, UNN reports with reference to Bild.

According to media reports, the base has its own water supply, so local residents were not affected. NATO reconnaissance aircraft are based in Geilenkirchen.
Earlier, a similar incident occurred at the German Air Force barracks near Cologne. According to Spiegel magazine, a hole was found in the fence, and the water supply system was malfunctioning. The water may have been poisoned.
