According to the newspaper, Aliaksandr Kulinich, who was detained after criticizing lukashenka's regime, died on April 9 of coronary heart disease. Aliaksandr Kulinich's body was given to his relatives. He will be buried on his birthday, April 11 , in his native town of maladzhačna.

Aliaksandr Kulinich, detained in February in brest on charges of insulting lukashenka, was in the pre-trial detention center awaiting trial, which was to be held on April 16 . He was to be tried under part 1 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code ("Insulting the president of the republic of belarus").

Kulinich was born on April 11 , 1972 (he would have been 52). He was a lieutenant colonel in the reserve, served in the 38th Independent Guards Airborne Assault Brest Brigade of the VdV. In recent times he worked as an individual entrepreneur, in social networks he spoke out about the occupation of belarus by russia and expressed support for Ukraine.

Earlier, the Human Rights Center "Viasna" wrote that from May 2022 to February 2024, five political prisoners died in belarusian colonies: Igor Lednik, Vitold Ashurok, Nikolai Klimovich, Ales Pushkin and Vadzim Hrasko. All of them were prosecuted on political articles, including insulting lukashenka.
