8 billion vs. 920 thousand: ARMA is trying to hide its fiasco with medvedchuk's yacht by selling a buggy and an ATV
Kyiv • UNN
The ARMA sold medvedchuk's buggy and ATV for UAH 920,000, but may lose a yacht worth UAH 8.5 billion due to delays. The agency is trying to divert attention from the problems with the sale of the yacht.
The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has boasted of the successful sale of one buggy and one ATV belonging to ex-MP viktor medvedchuk, a suspected high treason offender. This statement came almost immediately after it became known that due to the delays of the new leadership of the agency, Ukraine may lose one of medvedchuk's most expensive assets, the Royal Romance yacht, UNN reports .
Details
The day before, it became known that ARMA sold on Prozorro. Sale buggy and ATV that belonged to medvedchuk for UAH 920 thousand. For these funds, the agency plans to buy military bonds. The sale of any assets of the traitors of Ukraine is, of course, very good, especially if these funds will then go to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
However, the sale of medvedchuk's less valuable asset will not compensate for the losses that will occur if the Royal Romance yacht is not sold. The value of this asset is estimated at almost UAH 8.5 billion.
It is possible that by claiming the "successful sale" of one buggy and one ATV to Medvedchuk, ARMA was trying to divert public attention from the failure to sell the yacht and an attempt to hide the real problems in the agency's work.
Context
On Tuesday, July 23, it became known that the ARMA cannot sell one of Viktor medvedchuk's most expensive seized assets, the Royal Romance yacht, because a court in Croatia has canceled the seizure of this property.
The Office of the Prosecutor General notedthat throughout the seizure, efforts were made to develop mechanisms that would allow ARMA to sell the property located abroad. However, the new ARMA leadership allowed delays in this process and started the procedure for the sale of the yacht only on March 20, 2024, almost 2 years after the arrest.
