The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that on the night of December 17 (from 23.00 on December 16), the enemy attacked Ukraine with 31 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones from the Bryansk and Orel regions of the Russian Federation.

The air attack is repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.

As of 12.00, 20 Shahed and other types of attack UAVs were confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions. As a result of active counteraction by the Defense Forces, 10 enemy UAVs failed to reach their targets (lost in the area). One UAV is still in the air
