A young man launched fireworks near a high-rise building in Lesnoyi Massif to congratulate his girlfriend on her birthday. The offender faces up to 5 years in prison for hooliganism.
A Kyiv resident was served a notice of suspicion for launching fireworks in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv last week, the Main Department of the National Police in the capital reported, UNN reports.

The incident took place on Friday evening in the Lesnoyi Massif of the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. The young man launched fireworks near a high-rise building, frightening local residents.
"During the search operations, police detained a 19-year-old local resident involved in the launch of the fireworks - he explained that he wanted to congratulate his girlfriend on her birthday in this way," the police said.
Law enforcement officers seized two used launchers from the scene, and the offender was detained in accordance with Article 298-2 of the CPC of Ukraine.
"The suspect was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of imprisonment," the police said.
