President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a Law aimed at supporting the development of efficient heat supply. This was reported by UNN.

According to the explanatory note, the purpose of Law No. 4937-IX is to create favorable conditions for the modernization, development, and efficient operation of centralized heat supply systems, including through the mandatory installation of individual heating points in buildings connected to centralized heat supply systems, as well as clarifying the competitive principles for heat-generating organizations that produce thermal energy at heat sources.
This law provides for amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding support for the development of efficient and sustainable centralized heat supply.
This will allow recognizing centralized heat supply as a sphere of state interest, aimed at improving the heat supply system of both individual settlements of Ukraine and the development and restoration of efficient and sustainable centralized heat supply of the country as a whole. The draft act creates conditions for encouraging energy saving, modernization, and reconstruction of heat supply systems for all subjects of relations in the field of heat supply, will lead to the introduction of mechanisms for such support at the local level and stimulate the inflow of investments into this sphere
Also, the authors of the regulatory legal act note that the implementation of the provisions of this document will provide consumers of thermal energy, consumers of the service for the supply of thermal energy with uninterrupted heat supply and/or hot water supply, will allow improving its quality, will lead to a reduction in enterprise costs in the production, transportation, and supply of thermal energy to consumers, will encourage a reduction in energy consumption and the introduction of energy-efficient technologies.
