Zelenskyy sent a letter to Trump and Congress regarding the critical shortage of air defense systems. The Head of State urged the US to take swift action to protect against ballistic missiles.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that he has prepared a special letter to the President of the United States and Congress, which was sent to the institutions in Washington yesterday, UNN reports.

"This week, I prepared a special letter to the President of the United States and Congress. Yesterday, the letter was already sent to the institutions in Washington. It is rare for leaders of another state to address the President and the Congress of the United States of America simultaneously with such a letter, but the situation now is such that we must act promptly and effectively,"

Zelenskyy reported.

According to the President, it is important that America hears Ukraine.

"We understand that there is a lot of global attention on the war in Iran right now. We must also end the war here in Europe—a very bloody war that has been ongoing at a full-scale level for five years now. And the sooner we can provide more protection against ballistics, the sooner we can make diplomacy work,"

Zelenskyy added.

As the Head of State noted, as long as Russia relies on missiles, its interest in diplomacy is insincere.

"We must fix this. And we can only fix it together with America. Ukraine is grateful to America for all the support. We will be even more grateful for a dignified peace and guaranteed security. All of this is possible if there is enough determination. Thank you to everyone who helps! Glory to Ukraine!"

Zelenskyy concluded.

In a letter to Trump and Congress, Zelenskyy stated that two "Oreshnik" missiles were launched during the May 24 attack27.05.26, 18:39
