The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, arrived in France, where he met with his French counterpart, Sebastien Lecornu. They discussed strengthening the Ukrainian army and strengthening security support, UNN writes with reference to the Ministry of Defense.

The ministers discussed strengthening the Ukrainian army, the status of military assistance and further strengthening of security support.
In general, we were talking about the following key areas:
- Air defense;
- missiles;
- ammunition;
- aviation;
- armored vehicles;
- development of the military-industrial complex and the launch of joint production of weapons.
Also, Umerov and Lecornu separately discussed security guarantees for achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and Europe. They also talked about preparations for the summit at the level of heads of state under the leadership of France.
I am grateful to France for its consistent support from the first day of the full-scale invasion. I thank President Emmanuel Macron and Minister Sebastien Lecornu for their decisive position in supporting Ukraine

The head of state noted that Ukraine expects from the "Coalition of the Willing" summit, which is to be held in the French capital, more specifics on which countries are ready to join the security guarantees for our country. In particular, we are talking about sending a peacekeeping contingent.
