Ukraine is creating a national DNA database of relatives of missing children

A nationwide campaign to create a unified national DNA database of relatives of missing children has been launched in Ukraine. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the National Police of Ukraine, and the International Commission on Missing Persons. This is important because even when a child receives new documents and their personal data is changed, genetic information remains the only constant basis for establishing family ties and true identity. This tool is capable of working not only today, but also for many years to come. Every child has the right to return home and restore their identity
