The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a meeting regarding the state and readiness of the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Special attention was paid to strengthening the defense of the state border in the northern direction, along the Belarusian border. Syrskyi announced the formation of new unmanned systems units to deter a potential offensive from the north and to increase the effectiveness of covering Ukraine's borders in the north.
"They will be provided with the necessary weapons, equipment, and other means to perform the defined tasks. At the same time, we continue to build up the capabilities of the units already performing tasks in this direction,"
Syrskyi also heard reports on the restoration of the combat capability of military units after performing combat missions, as well as their replenishment with weapons and equipment. In addition, he emphasized the development of the non-commissioned officer (NCO) corps.
As the Commander-in-Chief noted, "future commanders must grow from among the warriors who have proven their effectiveness in battle, possess leadership qualities, authority among their comrades, and high motivation for service."
Also during the meeting, a decision was made to scale the unmanned component within their structure. According to Syrskyi, this will significantly increase the units' capabilities in conducting reconnaissance, striking the enemy, and protecting designated areas of responsibility.
