Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha reacted to information about Russians recruiting foreign citizens to participate in the war – in particular, citizens of Kenya. This is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Details
As the minister noted, it is time not only for Kenya, but also for the governments of other African countries to "resolutely counter illegal recruitment, and not ask Moscow for services."
This is another sad lesson of how Russia "respects" agreements. Its promises to the Kenyan side (not to involve its citizens in the war with Ukraine - ed.) were simply a lie
Context
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published information about Kenyan citizens who were recruited into the Russian army and thrown into combat operations in the area of the settlement of Borova in the Kharkiv region. Intelligence announced data on almost three thousand Africans in the Russian army.
One of these mercenaries - Nyambura Eric Mwangi, born in 2003 - was eliminated by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Recall
Even earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine intercepted a conversation between Russian occupiers about the killing of five invaders by an African mercenary. According to the interception, the Russians are losing control over foreigners involved in the war.
