According to Russian media, Putin's plane landed at Beijing Capital International Airport. This visit marks the Kremlin leader's first foreign trip in 2026.
During his stay in China, Putin is expected to hold talks with Xi Jinping. The official agenda for the meeting has not yet been released.

Putin's visit takes place shortly after US President Donald Trump's trip to the PRC. The American leader arrived in China on May 14 – for the first time since 2017.
Trump's visit was originally planned for March, but it was postponed following the outbreak of war between the US, Israel, and Iran.
