"We are already preparing for the diplomatic events of next week – it should be very active, starting from Monday. The European Union has confirmed its readiness to open the first cluster, and this gives new momentum to our negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union. We have done absolutely everything for this progress, and I am grateful to everyone who helped and everyone who works for our state," Zelenskyy stated in his traditional evening address on Saturday.
Ukraine, the President emphasized, "is ready to open six clusters, and we expect that this summer we will be able to achieve more results for our integration into the European Union." "At least from our side, there will be no delays. And it is very important that the partners also feel the full significance of this process," he pointed out.
"Among all the European nations that have already joined the European Union or see such a prospect for themselves, it is Ukraine that gives the most for the sake of Europe. We are not just carrying out internal reforms and not just going through a transformation – we are fighting for our state, for our independence, and for our right to independently choose our path and be Europe. And this right of ours is simultaneously the right of every nation in our region; we are fighting for our and their freedom, for Europe for ourselves and for them – for the Baltic states, for Poland, for Hungary and Slovakia, for Romania and Moldova. For the peoples of the Caucasus. That is why the fate of Europe is being decided here, decided in Ukraine, in this war and in how this war ends, and whether Russia will still have the strength and desire after this war to encroach on the lives of Ukraine and other neighbors, on our entire Europe," Zelenskyy stated.
That is why we must end this war with dignity and guaranteed security. And we will talk about this with partners within the framework of the G7 summit in France and later at the European Council summit and in Ankara – at the NATO summit. Negotiations and meetings in Europe these weeks must not be empty. We are filling them with substance and expect substance from our partners. Political progress in our interaction, particularly in the Drone Deals format, new sanctions against Russia, new support for Ukraine, primarily support for air defense and our long-range capabilities
The Head of State emphasized: "We are proving that Ukrainian long-range capability is of decisive importance, currently in middle-strikes across the entire depth of the temporarily occupied territory and in deep-strikes against Russian oil facilities and military enterprises."
"There were good hits by the SBU during this day – in our temporarily occupied Crimea. And by our army – on the territory of Russia itself: in the Volgograd and Krasnodar regions, specifically against oil facilities," he noted in this context.
June-July must be productive for Ukraine and for all of our Europe. I thank everyone who is with us – who is with Ukraine! I thank our warriors for their accuracy and strength at their positions
