The State Bureau of Investigation has completed the investigation of the criminal proceedings against the former deputy commander of the regiment - chief of staff of the Berkut special police regiment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It is reported that an indictment against the former head of the Berkut from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has been sent to court.
It was established that in February 2014, he organized illegal criminal obstruction of meetings and rallies in Mariinsky Park in Kyiv. His subordinates used excessive physical force and special means against the protesters, which resulted in the infliction of bodily injuries of varying severity on 117 protesters in the central part of the capital
The former law enforcement officer is accused, inter alia, of organizing illegal obstruction of meetings, rallies, street marches and demonstrations committed by an official in pursuance of a clearly criminal order, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, with the use of physical violence (Art. 2, Art. 28, Art. 27, para. 3, Art. 27, Art. 41, para. 4, Art. 340; Art. 28, para. 2, Art. 27, para. 3, Art. 27, Art. 41, para. 2, Art. 365; Art. 27, para. 4, Art. 41, Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It is noted that he is currently hiding from the authorities. The former head of the Crimean Berkut was put on the wanted list. In connection with this, a special pre-trial investigation was carried out against him.

On March 21, 2023, SBI officers notified of suspicion of treason against the former commander of the Berkut special police regiment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
