On April 5, approximately 1,200 demonstrations are planned in the United States, which organizers expect to be the largest day of protest against President Donald Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk since the Trump administration began rapidly implementing conservative policies in government. It is noted that the protests will be held under the slogan "Hands off!" and will be a response to the radical changes that Trump is implementing in US foreign and domestic policy through executive orders.
This is a huge demonstration that sends a very clear signal to Musk and Trump, Republicans in Congress and all MAGA allies that we don't want their hands touching our democracy, our communities, our schools, our friends and our neighbors,
Demonstrations will take place not only in all 50 US states, but also in Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Mexico and Portugal. One of the largest actions is expected on the National Alley in Washington.
Indivisible, which was formed during Trump's first presidential term in 2016, is working with other liberal groups, including MoveOn and the Working Families Party, to unite progressive organizations across the country.
Among the participants who confirmed their participation:
- International Union of Service Employees, representing approximately 2 million workers;
- Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ advocacy organization in the United States;
- environmental group Greenpeace.
