The 47th Separate Engineering Brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sumy region is building protective "anti-drone tunnels" — special structures made of stretched nets that create a barrier for kamikaze drones. These tunnels allow military personnel, equipment, wounded, and civilian transport to move safely in frontline areas. This is reported by UNN with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details

The most effective material for building such safe corridors is fishing net, as it is strong and inconspicuous to enemy equipment operators.

A significant amount of netting material is required to equip a shelter with side and top protection. The coverage volume depends on the length and dimensions of the structure, so the total area can reach several thousand square meters. Given the standard parameters of the net, a considerable number of linear meters must be prepared.

- says Captain Vitaliy Kosobutskyi.

As noted by the General Staff, these "corridors of life" have become an effective tool for reducing the impact of FPV drone fire, which can accurately hit targets even in open space. Military engineers have already built tens of kilometers of such protective corridors, allowing safe movement even with heavy equipment.

In modern warfare, the construction of "anti-drone tunnels" is one of the key methods of protecting logistics routes and civilians from new threats, making these structures a critically important part of Ukraine's defense infrastructure.

Recall

Recently, according to the State Emergency Service, the Shostka community in Sumy region came under enemy night attack. As a result of three UAV hits, several multi-story buildings, cars, and social infrastructure facilities were damaged.
