First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal met with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Ukraine, Ambassador Julie S. Davis. As reported by the Ministry of Energy, the parties discussed the possibilities of supplying American LNG for Ukraine's needs, involving US partners in the use of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities, and cooperation in nuclear energy, UNN reports.

According to the agency, during the meeting, Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the United States of America for its significant and consistent support of Ukraine's energy sector. The assistance provided is crucial for the restoration of critical energy infrastructure facilities that suffer daily destruction as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks. 

The head of the Ministry of Energy informed the American side about the current situation in the energy system and key priorities. He emphasized that Ukraine is focusing its efforts on restoring generation, forming equipment reserves, strengthening the protection of energy facilities, installing cogeneration units and block-modular boiler houses, as well as preparing projects for the construction of new generation facilities.

As reported by the agency, special attention was paid to the urgent needs of the energy sector during the meeting. The parties discussed the possibilities of supplying American LNG for Ukraine's needs, involving US partners in the use of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities, and cooperation in nuclear energy.
