In June 2025, the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine reached its highest level in three years – 232 people died and 1343 were injured. This is stated in the report of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, UNN reports.

The report states that last month, Russians carried out 10 times more missile strikes and attacks, including with loitering munitions, than in the same month of 2024. As a result of the strikes, there are dead and injured in 16 regions of Ukraine, including the city of Kyiv.
As noted by Danielle Bell, head of the Monitoring Mission, the increase in Russian missile strikes and UAV attacks has led to even more deaths and harm to the civilian population in regions of Ukraine far from the front line.
In July 2025, the situation did not improve: during the attack on Kyiv on July 10, the Russians used 397 Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles and decoy drones, as well as 18 missiles.
The total number of civilian deaths and injuries in the first half of 2025 is 6,754 people. This is 54 percent more compared to the same period in 2024, when 4,381 deaths were recorded.
In the first six months of 2025, the number of civilian deaths increased by 17 percent, and injuries by 64 percent.
In total, since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the UN Monitoring Mission has recorded at least 13,580 civilian deaths, including 716 children. 34,115 injured civilians, including 2,173 children, were also reported.
