According to the publication, in April, the Russian frigate "Admiral Grigorovich" escorted six vessels linked to the Russian "shadow fleet." Three of these ships were under economic sanctions.
Another Russian frigate, "Admiral Kasatonov," passed through the English Channel in late April, escorting two merchant vessels believed to be heading to the Syrian city of Tartus. One of them, the "Sparta," is linked to arms transportation, the publication states.
Defense Secretary John Healey stated a month ago that the British Navy escorted three Russian submarines during their month-long voyage over pipelines and cables near British waters, which were likely spying on underwater infrastructure.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that London will be "even tougher" in pursuing the Russian "shadow fleet" to protect the country and deprive "Vladimir Putin's war machine of the dirty profits that fund his barbaric campaign in Ukraine."
