The UK government is considering submitting a bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the 2040s. This was reported by the Associated Press, according to UNN.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced that discussions are already underway regarding support for a future bid. This also includes the possibility of hosting other major tournaments, specifically the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup in the 2030s.
The statement notes: "Initial work to explore whether the UK could host the Olympic and Paralympic Games for the first time since London 2012 will include an assessment of key factors such as potential cost, socio-economic benefits, and the chances of success for any bid."

The capital of Great Britain last hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 2012. In total, London has hosted the Games three times, which is one of the highest figures in the world.

Competition to host the Games is growing
The upcoming Summer Olympic Games have already been allocated: Los Angeles will host in 2028, and Brisbane in 2032.
At the same time, a number of countries are already competing for the right to host the 2036 Games, including India, Qatar, Turkey, Hungary, Germany, and Chile.
There is currently no final decision on submitting a British bid; the government continues to assess the feasibility of such a step.
