U.S. President Joe Biden will not attend the Olympics in Paris. Instead, the U.S. delegation will be led by First Lady Jill Biden at the opening ceremony and by the second U.S. gentleman Douglas Emhoff at the closing ceremony, UNN reports with reference to the White House.
"President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has announced the appointment of four presidential delegations to Paris, France, to participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and events of the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics," the White House said in a statement.

Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States, will lead the delegation to the opening of the Olympic Games. The opening ceremony will take place on July 26, 2024.
Mr. Douglas Emhoff, the second gentleman of the United States, will lead the delegation at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. The closing ceremony will take place on August 11, 2024.
The Honorable Tammy Duckworth, U.S. Senator, will lead the delegation to the opening of the Paralympic Games. The opening ceremony will take place on August 28, 2024.
The Honorable Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will lead the delegation to the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games. The closing ceremony will take place on September 8, 2024.
"Individual members of each presidential delegation will be announced later," the White House added.
